This marked the inaugural educational event of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival's Science and Technology Unit, as well as the Chinese Science and Technology Museum's special effects film exhibition.

During the premiere, over 400 elementary and middle school students, along with families, participated in the event at the museum's dome cinema. In his address, Ren Haihong, Deputy Director of the China Science and Technology Museum, stated that with the strength of the nation and the advancement of science and technology, there are increasingly more celestial bodies and spacecraft named after Chinese mythology and historical figures, shining like beacons, illuminating the path of Chinese technology advancement. The film will lead the audience to follow in the footsteps of Chinese scientists, exploring the ancient and modern Chinese technological culture in the universe.

"Shining Stars in the Night Sky" is the first 4K resolution dome-screen special effects film produced entirely independently by the China Science and Technology Museum. It showcases China's extraordinary achievements in aerospace technology, perfectly integrating excellent traditional Chinese culture with modern technology, and narrating stories about exploration, discovery, tradition, and modernity.

With "naming" as its theme, the film introduces the naming rules for stars and planets, as well as the traditional Chinese understanding of the stars, guiding the audience to reflect on the Chinese elements in the universe. It adopts a digital celestial demonstration system to visualize scientific content and showcases the development of China's ancient star system to modern aerospace technology.

The film discusses the profound influence of traditional Chinese culture on cosmic exploration and aerospace endeavors, from Chang'e lunar exploration and Tianwen Mars exploration to stories like Hou Yi shooting down the sun and Cangjie inventing Chinese characters. It showcases the brilliant achievements of China's aerospace technology under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Additionally, the film pays tribute to Chinese scientists by specially featuring asteroids named after recipients of the highest national science and technology award.

It's worth noting that the film has been selected for screening at the 2024 Brno Dome Film Festival in the Czech Republic and the China-Canada International Film Festival, marking another breakthrough for the museum's cinema management team in taking homemade films abroad and spreading the voice of China to the world after winning the Dragon Label for the first time.
