Recently, Polestar unveiled a teaser video for its inaugural smartphone, the Polestar Phone, and announced the revelation of a "new experience" on April 16th.
On April 16, as time marches on, the official announcement arrives: Polestar Phone will be unveiled on April 23 during the Polestar Brand Night, positioned as the flagship AI smartphone for drivers' connected ecosystem.
The official teaser for the new device's exterior design has been released.
According to the official description, the Polestar Phone boasts an ultra-luxurious appearance. It's a collaborative design effort between Polestar's global design team in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Meizu's design team. Drawing inspiration from Polestar's automotive designs, the phone features a sleek and minimalist aesthetic with a primary color scheme of pure Polestar white, accented by Swedish gold reminiscent of safety belts and Brembo brakes, outlining the phone's details and accessories.
The accessories of the new device, such as the SIM card pin and the woven charging cable, feature the same Swedish Gold color as the Aicy dynamic ring on the device's body.
The central and bottom parts of the glass back panel are etched and silk-screened, creating different textures for the logo inspired by Polestar.
Both the outer packaging and the phone case are made from eco-friendly materials.
Additionally, the new device features an NP66 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy for its frame, while the rear cover glass adopts a frosted crystal flash technique.
The new device features a 21:9 2K+ display with a slim bezel design, measuring just 2.2mm on all sides, achieving a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%.
The new device features a 50:50 weight distribution and a "74mm single-handed comfortable grip."
The Polestar Phone (model M481S) was revealed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in March this year. Its design bears a striking resemblance to the Meizu 21 PRO.
The configuration of the Polestar Phone is expected to be similar to that of the Meizu 21 Pro.
For reference, the Meizu 21 Pro comes in four color options: Midnight Black, Meizu White, Glacier Blue, and Laurel Green (silicone). It has a thickness of 7.98mm and weighs 214g (glass) / 208g (silicone). It supports IP68 dust and water resistance and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2.0 protection.
The Meizu 21 PRO features a 6.79-inch 2K+ Super AMOLED display with BOE Q9 luminous material, boasting a resolution of 3192x1368 and a pixel density of 512PPI. It supports LTPO 1~120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming.
In terms of performance, the Meizu 21 PRO is equipped with the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 processor, combined with LPDDR5X and UFS4.0, and features a 4651mm² VC liquid cooling system.
For imaging, the Meizu 21 PRO boasts a 32-megapixel front camera, a 50-megapixel wide-angle main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, supporting a 122° ultra-wide angle, 2.5cm macro, 3X optical zoom, and 30X digital zoom.
In terms of fast charging, the Meizu 21 PRO houses a 5050mAh battery and supports 80W Super mCharge wired fast charging, 50W Super Wireless mCharge wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
For unlocking, the Meizu 21 PRO features mTouch Max ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, with the unlocking area increased from 8mm×8mm to 30mm×20mm.
The Meizu 21 PRO also claims to be the "first open AI terminal" from Meizu. With Flyme 10.5, it gradually introduces several AI features, such as Aicy Voice Assistant, which can efficiently write copy and generate various styles of artwork through voice commands. The gallery, powered by AI, supports natural language image searches.
In other aspects, the Meizu 21 PRO features the Unbounded Antenna System 2.0 and mSmart Net technology, supporting digital key functionality, Flyme Auto for deep connectivity, and Flyme Link for phone domain technology.
