April 23 – MINI has recently released official photos of its brand-new electric MINI Cooper.
It is reported that the vehicle will make its first appearance at the 2024 Beijing International Auto Show, which opens on April 25, and will be available exclusively in a three-door model.
In the current market for pure electric vehicles, three-door compact cars are few and far between. With the release of this car, it will pave the way for a new market segment: luxury pure electric two-door compact cars.
In terms of appearance, the all-new electric MINI COOPER adopts a design style that combines electrification and digitization while retaining many classic design elements of the MINI brand.
In terms of dimensions, the domestically produced all-new electric MINI COOPER measures 3858 (3863) / 1756 / 1458 millimeters in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2526 millimeters.
Thanks to its pure electric architecture, the electric MINI COOPER will boast wider tracks, shorter front overhangs, larger diameter wheels, and a longer wheelbase, while still maintaining its compact 3.8-meter body length.
Inside, the standout feature of the all-new MINI Cooper is the 240mm diameter circular central display, resembling a smartwatch interface. The infotainment system is based on series technology, supporting features like personal voice assistants, navigation, gaming, streaming media, and smartphone digital keys.
Dimensions of the new car are 3858 mm in length, 1756 mm in width, and 1458 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2526 mm.
In terms of power, the new model will be available in two power levels: MINI COOPER E and MINI COOPER SE. The former features a maximum power output of 135 kilowatts from its drive motor.
The MINI COOPER SE features a maximum output of 160 kilowatts from its electric motor and a peak torque of 330 Newton-meters. The initially announced model comes with a 54 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 456 kilometers.
