According to CNMO Tech News, OPPO's mid-range smartphone lineup, the A series, is about to welcome a new member — the OPPO A60. Judging from the name, it seems to succeed the A59, which was launched in December last year. However, there's a little twist here: while the A59 supports 5G networks, the A60 lacks this functionality, indicating that the A60 is more like a successor to the A58 4G, and it is expected to replace the latter starting from July this year.
The presence of OPPO A60 has surfaced on the Google Play Console, as expected, revealing some key specs including its processor - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. Unfortunately, this chipset doesn't support 5G. In contrast, the A58 4G utilizes the MediaTek Helio G85, offering a better cost-performance ratio.
The upcoming OPPO A60 will feature 8GB of RAM paired with a Snapdragon 680 SoC, with a screen resolution of 720x1604, slightly lower than the A58 4G. Of course, the new device will come preloaded with ColorOS 14 based on Android 14.
Recent TUV Rheinland certification information indicates that the OPPO A60 will come with a 5000mAh battery, supporting 45W wired fast charging. According to the Camera FV 5 listing, its rear main camera will be 50 megapixels with an aperture of f/1.9, while the front selfie camera will be 8 megapixels with an aperture of f/2.0.
