March 18th, news has surfaced indicating that the Huawei P70 series is set to be unveiled in April, with this launch expected to carry significant weight.
According to insights from tech blogger Ding Jiao Digital, internal meetings at Huawei have positioned the importance of the P series above that of the Mate series, with a mandate to reclaim the top spot in imaging prowess.
The leaked configuration details align closely with previous revelations. The Huawei P70 series is set to feature the same Kirin 9000S processor as the Mate 60 series, boasting 5G capability and support for satellite communication, which are among the key selling points of the Mate 60 series.
Not only does the P70 series inherit all these features, but it also sees a significant improvement in imaging capabilities, the largest in nearly three years. The top-tier P70 Art model will sport the Sony IMX989 sensor as its main camera, boasting a generous 1-inch sensor size, making it Huawei's largest sensor in its imaging flagship lineup to date.
In addition to the super-sized cup model, the P70 this time also comes with a standard 50-megapixel ultra-large base main camera and a periscope telephoto lens, offering impressive imaging capabilities even in the standard version.
Moreover, the P series has always been positioned as relatively more youthful compared to the Mate series, featuring a more fashionable design and appealing to a broader audience. It is expected that the P70 series will outperform the Mate 60 series in terms of market performance.
