Opening of the "Academician's Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition on the Twenty-Four Solar Terms by Liu Jingu"

On March 27th, the "Tian Di You Jie Qi Xiang Wan Qian - Academician's Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition on the Twenty-Four Solar Terms by Liu Jingu," hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and organized by the Cheng Ji Art Museum of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, grandly opened at the Cheng Ji Art Museum.

Professor Liu Jingu from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts expressed in his speech that throughout his decades-long journey in painting creation, he has always delved into excellent traditional Chinese cultural themes, dedicated to promoting and carrying forward the Chinese painting art. This is his first exhibition held at a university, and he hopes that the audience can perceive the profound and extensive Chinese civilization in this exhibition.

Zhang Ansheng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, pointed out that university museums and art galleries bear the important responsibility of cultural and art education. In recent years, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has made significant progress in cultural and art undertakings, creating a favorable environment and atmosphere for cultivating the aesthetic literacy of teachers and students and promoting cultural and artistic exchanges. It is understood that this exhibition features 24 paintings of the solar terms created by Liu Jingu, as well as a series specially created for this exhibition depicting the four seasons. Additionally, there are calligraphy works related to phenological rhythms written by 25 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering on display.
