Oops! Harvard Scientists Mistook Truck for Alien Spacecraft

March 23rd - Many people are curious about whether aliens and alien spacecraft exist. Based on probability, it's possible, but no one can say for sure at the moment. We can only search for clues through research, such as studying meteorites.

Back in January 2014, a meteor streaked across the sky over the western Pacific and crashed near the coast of Papua New Guinea. The local seismic station recorded ground vibration data from the impact.

Although many scientists said that it was just a common natural phenomenon, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb analyzed the seismic waves and determined that the object that crashed could have been an alien spacecraft, and claimed that the material recovered from nearby was extraterrestrial technology.

However, a recent study from Johns Hopkins University has cast doubt on this theory. Researchers found after an in-depth investigation that the seismic waves recorded by the seismic station were almost certainly caused by a truck rumbling along a nearby road, not an alien spacecraft.

After excluding the so-called seismic data, the team recalculated the location where the meteor crashed into the ocean, which turned out to be 150 kilometers away from where the object was recovered.

In other words, not only did the Harvard scientists use the wrong signal, they also looked in the wrong place. Therefore, the recovered object had nothing to do with the meteor, let alone alien spaceships and alien technology. Seeaa5b5d-c808-40f9-a676-79ad91b7a6bc.png
