On March 25th, according to the official WeChat account of "Fuzhou Fuyao Institute of Higher Learning," the second session of the first board meeting of Fuyao University of Technology (temporary name) was held in the brand-new administrative building, chaired by Chairman Cao Dewang.
The meeting approved the resignation of Academician Mei Hong from the position of President of Fuzhou Fuyao Institute of Higher Learning/Fuyao University of Technology (temporary name) and invited him to continue serving as a board member of Fuyao University of Technology (temporary name).
With the consent of Director Wang Shuguo, the meeting appointed him as the President of Fuzhou Fuyao Institute of Higher Learning/Fuyao University of Technology (temporary name). Chairman Cao Dewang signed the invitation letter to President Wang Shuguo on the spot.
It's understood that on March 19th, Wang Shuguo stepped down as the president of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He seamlessly transitioned to become the president of Fuyao University of Science and Technology (tentative name), making him the third president of this university, which is currently under construction.
According to the official website of Fuyao University of Science and Technology (tentative name), the university is located on Liuzhou Island, Nanyu Town, Gaoxin District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, covering an area of 1273 acres. It was initiated by Cao Dewang, the chairman of Fuyao Group.
This is a private non-profit university with a public welfare orientation, positioned as a high-level research-oriented international university in the field of science and engineering. The university offers undergraduate and graduate education.
Cao Dewang has previously stated that Fuyao University of Science and Technology (tentative name) will learn from and draw upon advanced international educational concepts, explore innovative teaching methods, implement differentiated education, and focus on addressing the deficiencies in high-end manufacturing technologies such as materials science, precision instruments and equipment, and electronic information engineering. The university will scientifically design academic disciplines, build a high-level faculty team, establish state-of-the-art research laboratories, and strive to become a new type of application-oriented high-level research university.
