Public reports indicate that this ancient tree is located in the Hubei Province's Qiaokou District, within the vicinity of the Central China Building Materials Market, where it had been enclosed indoors for over 40 years.

After being discovered by people in October 2022, the tree was confirmed by experts in March 2023 to be a 150-year-old Chinese pear tree. Subsequently, relevant authorities "removed it from indoors" in 2023, allowing it to regain its "freedom to grow."

Chinese pear, also known as Pyrus pyrifolia, is a deciduous tree in the Rosaceae family, also referred to as apple pear, sand pear, Chinese pear, and Asian pear, among other names.

During the spring flowering season, the tree blooms with pure white flowers, creating a refreshing and pleasant sight. Its ornamental value makes it suitable for greening streets, courtyards, and parks.

Standing at a height of 10 meters, the Chinese pear tree has thorny branches and its flowers are arranged in umbel-shaped inflorescences. Each petal is pure white, while the stamens' anthers are purple. Its flowering period typically occurs around April.

Chinese pear trees exhibit strong adaptability, thriving in sunlight and showing resistance to cold, drought, flooding, and poor soil conditions. They can grow normally in neutral soil as well as saline-alkaline soil. s_ed5b8b1bb209499ab27b477be9cf2b89.jpg
