According to domestic media, in Langfang, Hebei Province, a Wuling Hongguang MINI EV owner claimed that their car, which they bought for over 50,000 yuan just a year ago, had its battery, motor, and rear axle assembly stolen while parked on the roadside, resulting in significant losses.

The owner explained that they parked the car near the residential area roadside for the night, and the next day, they found the wheels missing.

When repair personnel from an auto repair shop arrived, they discovered that the tires had been used as a makeshift jack, propping up the car from below.

However, the vehicle's battery, motor, and rear axle assembly were stolen, leaving only the car shell behind. The repair shop informed the owner that the car was now only worth around 2,000 yuan.

Although the owner had purchased theft insurance, they were unable to claim compensation as the entire vehicle hadn't been stolen, only its parts.

In the end, the owner spent 26,000 yuan to repair the vehicle. Nearby surveillance footage and police intervention are currently under investigation.

This incident serves as a reminder to all vehicle owners that electric vehicle batteries are valuable and easily removable, making it essential to park in secure, monitored locations whenever possible. s_089a40e094bf429fa4f4440a6ef0431c.png
