Hong Kong must leverage its strong research and development capabilities, the advantages of being an international and market-oriented economy, and a robust intellectual property protection system to develop advanced manufacturing. The "Hong Kong Smart City Blueprint" released by the Hong Kong SAR Government clearly indicates the strengthening of support for the strategic development of industries. Artificial intelligence is a key driving force for industrial transformation, and the government has earmarked HK$3 billion for the "Artificial Intelligence Subsidy Scheme" to assist local universities, research institutions, and companies in the application and development of AI technology. The government will continue to collaborate with various sectors in promoting the adoption of digital strategies for upgrading and transformation, striving to make Hong Kong a more livable and economically vibrant smart city. 661e808fe4b03b5da6d0cf0a.jpg Henry Tan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), highlighted the profound transformative potential of industrial artificial intelligence (AI), which is deeply empowering advanced manufacturing worldwide. As a key driver of new productivity in Hong Kong, HKPC is committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology, with a focus on AI, to enhance business productivity and efficiency, thus aiding enterprises in optimizing value and achieving sustainable development. Furthermore, HKPC will actively respond to national development strategies, collaborating fully with the Hong Kong SAR Government to explore how AI can drive deep integration of global lighthouse factories, value chains, and business models. This effort aims to lead and promote the upgrading and transformation of industries in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, mainland China, and globally, thereby assisting the manufacturing sector in embracing the new era of industrialization.

The conference brought together professionals, scholars, industry experts, and business leaders from both domestic and international arenas, including Professor Jie Li from the University of Maryland, Schalk de Klerk, Vice President of o9 Solutions, and Professor Kwok-kwong Wong from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as well as industry leaders from renowned companies such as Foxconn and Siemens. Additionally, experts from research and development institutions such as the World Economic Forum and TCL Industrial also attended to discuss the development and application of AI and robotics in the industry.

Multiple thematic speeches and roundtable forums covered topics such as intelligent manufacturing, global lighthouse factories, digital factories, and generative artificial intelligence. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the latest developments, technological applications, and market opportunities in the field of AI and robotics, exploring how to facilitate the integration and symbiosis between leading enterprises and startups, promote and improve the enterprise innovation ecosystem, and develop emerging industries and future industries. These discussions provided valuable insights and recommendations for the future development of manufacturing in Hong Kong and globally.

The conference also provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas and showcase innovative products, services, and solutions in AI and robotics.
