Following Geely's acquisition of a controlling stake in Meizu, significant reforms were made to Meizu smartphones.
Shifting its development strategy, leveraging Meizu's strengths in operating systems, integrating them into a comprehensive "phone + car + smart device" ecosystem, aimed at enhancing the Flyme Auto's in-car system and overall ecosystem experience.
Recently, Polestar, a subsidiary of Geely, announced that the Polestar Phone will unveil a new experience on April 16th and released a teaser video.
The teaser video reveals the design of the Polestar Phone, featuring a centered punch-hole display on the front with angular edges, and a vertically arranged camera island on the back. Polestar has also provided a dark gold charging cable, matching the color of the safety belts in Polestar cars.
Earlier reports indicated that the Polestar Phone, with the model number M481S, shares similar specifications with the Meizu 21 Pro, both being produced by Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. in Zhuhai City.
At this year's March Polestar Brand Day, the Polestar Phone made its debut. It has already passed Google's compatibility certification and is confirmed to feature a customized system developed with the assistance of Meizu, supporting Google Play.
Designed in collaboration between Meizu and Polestar's design team in Gothenburg, this phone boasts a Polestar embossing on the side and the brand's iconic cross logo on the back cover.
Additionally, the official claims that this mobile phone can seamlessly connect with cars and provide a range of features such as Super Desktop. The newly embedded Polestar OS system is built on the experience of the Lynk 08 and Flyme Auto systems, boasting to have completed system iteration upgrades in just 60 days.
As a reference, the Meizu 21 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supporting up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, along with a 4651mm² VC cooling solution. It features a 6.79-inch 2K+ display with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and supports 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming.
The device comes in Starry Night Black, Glacier Blue, Bayberry Green, and a "Meizu Fans Memorial Beauty Version" with a white front panel.
The rear camera module of the Meizu 21 Pro features a 50-megapixel OV50H main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom.
The device is equipped with a 5050mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
To enhance the user experience, the Meizu 21 Pro also features an mTouch Max ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, making fingerprint recognition convenient, highly accurate, resistant to wet, dirty, or dry fingers, and significantly improving unlocking speed.
The Meizu 21 Pro comes with the Flyme 10.5 system, which will gradually introduce a variety of AI-powered interactive features. For instance, there's Aicy, your on-demand personal assistant, ready to help with tasks like efficient copywriting and generating artwork in various styles through voice commands. Plus, the gallery now supports natural language image search, thanks to AI enhancements.
