The BYD J9 is a pure electric sports car positioned as a Speedster, designed by BYD's chief designer, Ai Ge.
The J9 represents the pinnacle of BYD's design expression, described by the company as offering "the most wonderful emotional experience in the new electric era," and providing "the purest enjoyment of performance and speed."
Featuring "scissor doors," a dual cockpit, and an open-top windshield-less design, the overall styling is bold and avant-garde.
The vehicle's underside incorporates two functional blades (suspended blades) for improved aerodynamic performance.
The new car is set to debut at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show.
