Li believes that the significance of open-sourcing large models is limited, as closed-source models will continue to lead in terms of cost and capability.

However, in the debate between open-sourcing and closed-sourcing large models, Zhou Hongyi, the chairman of 360 Group, expressed his belief in the power of open-source during a speech at Harvard University. He dismissed some online rumors, urging not to be misled, stating that open-source is better than closed-source.

"In short, without open-source today, there would be no Linux, no Internet, and even the companies making such claims have grown with the help of open-source," Zhou emphasized.

Furthermore, Zhou predicted that in the next year or two, the power of open-source is likely to match or surpass that of closed-source.

Zhou also mentioned an incident where Robin Li of Baidu claimed that their large model surpassed GPT-4, which Wang Xiaochuan disputed.

"If you carefully listen to what Robin Li said, he has a point. He meant that in writing poetry, Baidu's model surpassed GPT-4," Zhou's remarks elicited laughter from the audience. s_4eabc167879145dcb5a712161459fcb8.png
