However, users are cautioned against directly upgrading existing iStoreOS or OpenWrt devices with this firmware. It is strongly recommended to perform a fresh installation to avoid potential unknown issues. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0413%2Fec4c450cj00sbvumb00mtd000u000lmg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg From the official images provided, we can see that the iStoreNAS main interface adopts a design similar to Synology's WebOS, but still retains the iStoreOS router system interface. It also offers the iStore App Store, supporting the download of various plugins. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0413%2Fe44ebce6j00sbvumb00d6d000u000lfg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg iStoreOS has comprehensive support for Samba and WebDAV, but it seems that the iStoreNAS interface lacks a dedicated Samba settings page. Therefore, some configurations need to be completed in the iStoreOS interface. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0413%2F1028bd69j00sbvumb0046d000u000b9g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Pulsestacks noticed that the iStoreNAS firmware now also features a mobile interface, which seems to meet the needs of most users. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0413%2Fb5a97c04j00sbvumb001dd000ol00l7g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg iStoreNAS is designed with a lightweight approach, built on the foundation of OpenWRT. Essentially, it's a firmware based on iStoreOS, just with a different interface, optimized and tailored specifically for NAS scenarios.

Being built on OpenWRT means it's hard to compete with Debian in terms of features. However, the advantage of OpenWRT lies in its ability to lower hardware requirements, making it more suitable for entry-level DIY NAS devices.

Moreover, iStoreNAS has another significant advantage: iStoreOS itself offers excellent support for Arm devices. This means the iStoreNAS system can be well adapted to NAS devices based on Arm processors.
