On the day of the event, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture held a press conference to outline the overall arrangement and highlights of the event and announce the new enrollment policies for 2024.
President Zhang Dayu pointed out that both domestically and internationally, as well as in terms of the development direction of human society, the construction industry will increasingly need more high-level planners, designers, architects, and operation and maintenance engineers who can adapt to social development and meet the needs of the people. On one hand, the university closely monitors the development trends of the industry, timely optimizing and adjusting the training mode and program; on the other hand, it reforms the teaching content, actively integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence into the teaching content to enhance teaching adaptability and better meet the needs of talent training in society.
According to Huang He, director of the admissions office of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, there are three main highlights for the 2024 admissions:
Diverse subject combinations to meet the needs of a wide range of candidates. In 2024, in addition to "Physics + Chemistry" as the compulsory subjects for all science and engineering majors, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture will also offer "Physics" as a separate subject combination and two professional groups with "unlimited subject combinations."
Future adjustments to the admission methods of the School of Architecture and Engineering, with the implementation of direct enrollment through the college entrance examination for the first time. The enrollment scale for Architecture (Elite Class) and Civil Engineering (Engineering Experiment Class) is 30 students. Among them, Architecture (Elite Class) plans to enroll 10 students, implementing the "4+5" training mode of nine years of continuous study from undergraduate to doctoral; Civil Engineering (Engineering Experiment Class) plans to enroll 20 students, implementing the "3+5" training mode of eight years of continuous study from undergraduate to doctoral.
Focus on new productive forces, with the addition of seven undergraduate enrollment majors in the past five years. These include new majors in Smart Construction, Environmental Ecological Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Navigation Engineering, Geographic Spatial Information Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, and Robotics Engineering.
It is reported that the joint consultation event for higher education admissions is organized by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, with the co-sponsorship of the Education Examination Professional Committee of the China Association for Education Development Strategy and the Beijing University Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center.
