On April 15th, it was reported that Xiaomi SU7 sometimes faces charging issues when using chargers from other brands.

In response, Xiaomi Automotive provided an explanation.

It turns out that different brands of chargers have different default permission settings. This may lead to the inability to charge the Xiaomi SU7 due to settings that restrict usage to specific car models or whitelist authorization mechanisms.

Xiaomi SU7 users are advised to ensure that charging permissions are enabled on the charger before use. For specific instructions on permission settings, users should refer to the user manual of the respective charger brand or contact customer service for detailed usage instructions.

Taking Tesla Generation 3 home chargers as an example, to enable charging for the Xiaomi SU7, the access control on the charger needs to be changed from "Tesla only" to "All vehicles." Here are the steps to modify the initial settings:

  1. Press and hold the charging handle button for 5 seconds until the charger indicator light breathes green.
  2. Enable WiFi on your smartphone.
  3. Locate the network named "TeslaWallConnector_XXX."
  4. Connect by entering the WiFi password, which is a 12-character WPA2 code provided in the "Quick Start Guide" included with every Tesla Generation 3 home charger package.
  5. Once connected, open a browser on your phone and enter 192.168.92.1 to access the settings interface.
  6. Click on the access control section and choose "All vehicles" to complete the setup. s_0a3a3b705f344ca58c124105d4aa8134.jpg
