On May 3rd, the official public account of the "Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security" released a post, stating that on the third day of the "May Day" holiday, the traffic volume on major highways and national and provincial trunk roads across the country remained high.

It is expected that starting tomorrow, various regions will gradually enter the holiday return peak period, with traffic volumes on highways and national and provincial trunk roads generally remaining high.

According to the forecast from the China Meteorological Administration, in the later period of the "May Day" holiday (from the 3rd to the 5th), there will be widespread heavy rainfall and severe convective weather processes in eastern and central parts of Guizhou, southern Jianghan, Jianghuai, Jiangnan, South China, and other regions.

Some areas in Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, and other regions may experience heavy rain or severe rain, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, or hail and other severe convective weather.

The Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security reminds all drivers and passengers to pay close attention to road conditions and weather forecasts before returning from the holiday, make travel plans, arrange travel time and routes reasonably, ensure safe driving and civilized behavior, and strictly avoid speeding, overloading, overcrowding, and fatigue driving.

With a large volume of return traffic, in case of queuing congestion, please do not cut in line, change lanes aggressively, or rush, to ensure smooth traffic flow.

According to Amap's May Day travel forecast, this national highway return peak may be relatively dispersed.

It is predicted that the peak congestion periods for return traffic will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 4th and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on May 5th, with the peak hours expected to occur from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on May 4th and from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on May 5th. 5d52fe97-66e9-4c01-a643-58b704c9b24c.png
