On March 15th, it was reported that many businesses are providing "cashback for positive reviews" cards with takeout orders in an attempt to encourage customers to voluntarily leave favorable reviews.

These cards typically contain messages such as "Get 1 CNY for a full five-star review + 1 CNY for sharing a photo, and receive a 2 CNY voucher."

Such practices are illegal, and a takeout business in Shanghai was fined 5000 CNY for engaging in false advertising by distributing "cashback for positive reviews" cards.

According to reports, the business printed 1000 of these cards at a local printing shop and distributed around 500 of them, with 7 instances of cashback, totaling 14 CNY.

The Market Supervision Administration stated that in the field of e-commerce, credibility evaluation is one of the main factors influencing consumer decision-making. Credibility evaluation mainly comes in the form of consumer feedback and reviews.

Practices like offering cashback for positive reviews undermine the fairness of product evaluations, deviating from the original intention of the consumer evaluation mechanism and rendering the online trading evaluation system ineffective. s_c95ecae0e93d4411a37fd02fe53f95df.png
