AMD's next-generation GPUs are on the horizon, with two new GPU cores making an appearance in their ROCm development files: gfx1200 corresponding to Navi 44, and gfx1201 corresponding to Navi 48.

Previously, Navi 48 had been spotted in AMD Linux patches.

Specific specifications are yet to be revealed, but based on current indications, Navi 44 is aimed at the high-end market and is expected to become the RX 8800/8700 series, while Navi 48 targets the mainstream market with a halved core size, likely to be part of the RX 8600/8500 series. a4a8c7c6-c742-48ea-9113-b5c5d1d66b8d.jpg Originally, there was also a Navi 4C targeting the flagship sector, featuring a multi-chip integrated design, but it was canceled due to various reasons, leading AMD to temporarily step away from this market.

Moreover, the RX 8000 series will not adopt GDDR7 memory, sticking with GDDR6 instead, with an effective frequency of only 18GHz, falling short of the RX 7800 XT at 19.5GHz.

On the NVIDIA side, they are gearing up for 512-bit GDDR7. s_c33d6aeb85e848c8828e9cf955a6d286.png
