On April 7th, it was announced that Lixiang Auto, a subsidiary brand under NIO, has officially registered its Weibo account. As of now, no content has been posted, but it is anticipated to commence its prelude later this month. Lixiang Auto is gearing up to unveil its inaugural vehicle priced at around 200,000 CNY, featuring swappable batteries, catering to the burgeoning demand for electric mobility in China.
According to previously disclosed information, the prototype of LeDao's first vehicle rolled off the production line in October 2023. The plan is to unveil it in mid-May 2024 and launch it on the market in the third quarter, with deliveries commencing in the fourth quarter.
Not long ago, Li Bin personally revealed some details about the NIO sub-brand, Leda's first car. In the video, Li Bin mainly showcased the rear space of the car. He mentioned that he is 180cm tall, and even with someone sitting in the front seat, there is still plenty of legroom in the second row.
By eyeballing it, there seems to be a distance of more than three fists, allowing for comfortably crossing legs without any pressure. Additionally, it can be seen that Leda's first model is equipped with a panoramic sunroof and brown seats, presenting a decent sense of luxury.
Not only spacious, Li Bin also revealed, "LeDao's first car will target the Tesla Model Y, with costs around 10% lower. It'll come with a single motor, refrigerator, TV, and a large sofa - everything the user needs. For those considering buying a Model Y, they can wait a bit. Our car will definitely be cheaper. How much cheaper? Give it some thought."
As for the origin of the name LeDao for NIO's sub-brand, Li Bin actually explained, "It's about family happiness, good housekeeping, and enjoyable conversations."
