On April 16th, the new generation SAIC Volkswagen Passat made its appearance in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's new vehicle declaration catalog.
According to the declaration images, the exterior of the new Passat has undergone significant changes. The iconic "horizontal banner grille" that used to run through the badge has been redesigned into a split design, with the area of the upper grille significantly reduced and connected to the headlights.
The new car's front end bears a striking resemblance to the Volkswagen Lingdu, but there are significant changes compared to the current model. Can you accept this kind of exterior design?

The rear badge of the vehicle has also changed. The previous numerical badge has been replaced with "PRO," indicating that the new car will likely adopt naming conventions similar to the new lineup, such as "PRO, MAX, Ultra."
According to the filing information, the new car's body length has increased by 58mm, reaching 5006mm; the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2871mm.
In terms of powertrain options, the new car offers a choice between 1.5T and 2.0T engines. The 1.5T engine has a maximum output power of 118 kilowatts, while the 2.0T engine has a maximum output power of 162 kilowatts.
Reports suggest that the all-new Passat is expected to officially launch in the third quarter of this year.
