On May 27, 2024, the opening ceremony of the National Grain and Material Reserve Technology Week was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. During the event, significant achievements in grain and material reserve technology innovation, talent development, and academic institution construction were showcased. Activities such as the "Grain Science Popularization in Rural Areas" and lectures on grain and material reserve technology were conducted throughout the event. Member of the Party Group of the National Development and Reform Commission, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the National Food and Material Reserves Administration, Liu Huanxin, said at the meeting that the theme of this activity week is "Inspiring Innovation Vitality, Promoting the Development of Grain and Material Reserves." The national grain and material reserves system should strengthen its sense of mission, focus on implementing work tasks, continuously create a new situation in the development of grain and material reserves through science and technology and talent. Efforts should be directed towards implementing the strategic initiatives of storing grain in the ground and in technology, strengthening the coordinated guarantee of grain production, purchase, storage, and sales, promoting grain conservation and loss reduction, advancing the informatization and intelligence of reserve management, and firmly managing the "granary of the world" and the "national reserves." The focus should be on cutting-edge technology, closely tracking advanced technologies at home and abroad, deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research for innovation, accelerating the cultivation and development of new productive forces through technological innovation. Based on frontline production, efforts should be made to address the practical needs of green grain storage, quality and safety, nutrition and health, grain conservation and loss reduction, emergency material reserves, intensifying research efforts, accelerating system integration, and generating a batch of leading technological achievements with strong guiding roles, significant industry contributions, and good social benefits. It is essential to solidify the foundation, leverage innovative platforms, optimize the allocation of innovative resources, fully mobilize the enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity of scientific and technological talents, and provide strong support for ensuring the security of national food and material reserves.

This Science and Technology Week event is organized by the National Grain and Material Reserves Administration, undertaken by the Jiangxi Provincial Grain and Material Reserves Administration and the People's Government of Nanchang City, and co-organized by the Jiangxi Bureau of the National Grain and Material Reserves Administration.
