On April 19th, the joint plaque unveiling ceremony for the establishment of the "Artificial Intelligence - Innovation Talent Cultivation Base" between the Nankai University School of Artificial Intelligence and Tianjin Yaohua High School was held.
It is understood that the "Artificial Intelligence - Innovation Talent Cultivation Base" is jointly constructed by the Nankai University School of Artificial Intelligence and Yaohua High School. The two parties will cooperate in various forms including academic lectures, faculty teams, teaching training, student competitions, and research projects. The innovation base will select a certain number of students from Yaohua High School each year for targeted training. The Nankai University School of Artificial Intelligence will develop 1-2 college preparatory courses for students of the innovation base, organize laboratory visits and practical activities, assist students in career planning and academic guidance, and provide a multi-dimensional development platform outside the classroom to ignite the interest and enthusiasm of young people in scientific research, cultivating more outstanding talents for future technological innovation.
Xu Jing, Deputy Dean of the Nankai University School of Artificial Intelligence, introduced that the school has already launched the "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" preparatory course at Yaohua High School, with 8 experts including the dean Zhao Xin as lecturers. Students who complete the course will receive a certificate, and the relevant credits will be recognized upon admission to Nankai University.
In his speech, Yang Kexin, Executive Vice Secretary of the Nankai University Party Committee, stated that the cultivation of innovative talents is related to the self-reliance in high-level science and technology and the construction of an educationally strong nation. Yaohua High School, with its long history, is a high-quality source of students for Nankai University. The establishment of the joint "Artificial Intelligence - Innovation Talent Cultivation Base" signifies further deep cooperation between the two schools in the joint cultivation of innovative talents, providing high-quality educational resources from Nankai University to students, building a learning environment and hardware and software platforms for cultivating interests. He warmly anticipates that students from Yaohua High School can focus on the forefront of technological development and choose to continue their studies at Nankai University in the future, growing into outstanding innovative talents with both ability and integrity.
