On March 25th, it was revealed that at the "Empowering Together for Momentum" 2024 Ford China Dealers Conference held at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Kunming, Yunnan Province, Changan Ford unveiled several new models.

What came as a surprise was the debut appearance of the Ford EVOS Hybrid version at the event, bearing a nameplate on its front end that reads "Mondeo Sport Edition". It is reported that this vehicle will be launched during the Beijing Auto Show at the end of April. S44f978a9-8e32-433d-acc4-1487b90076b8.jpg

It shares its platform with the Ford Mondeo, but surprisingly, the hybrid version is renamed "Mondeo Sport", which is quite a twist in the tale of "brothers turning out to be myself". However, regardless of the name change, let's focus on the essence of the product. The "Mondeo Sport", as previously declared, largely inherits the design of the petrol version, with dimensions of approximately 4920/1920/1600mm in length, width, and height respectively, and a wheelbase of 2945mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large-sized vehicle. Regarding the powertrain, as per the declaration, the vehicle will be equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power output of 212kW and is coupled with a nickel-cobalt-manganese lithium battery provided by BYD Battery Company. It achieves an acceleration of approximately 5.7 seconds for every 100 kilometers.
