On April 7th, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted on X stating that civilization needs to maintain its current technological level until Mars can sustain itself, a feat he believes could be achieved within 20 years.

"If we become a multi-planetary and multi-star species, our civilization will endure for millions of years. Without it, perhaps only a few hundred years," Musk said. s_614c81dccbca4bb4b0990f1e17e8956d.png Musk has stated his intention to construct a city on Mars, aiming to transform humanity into a multi-planetary species. s_e26bf52627c0439089f1a220012ee76d.png In pursuit of the goal of "immigrating to Mars," Musk and SpaceX have poured significant effort and resources. In March this year, SpaceX conducted the third test flight of the "Starship." Forty-seven minutes after liftoff, the "Starship" executed a successful second-stage ignition demonstration, with the Raptor engines firing smoothly, marking another milestone in the test flight of the "Starship."

Subsequently, the "Starship" re-entered the atmosphere, but lost signal amidst intense friction, with visuals indicating an altitude of 65 kilometers. SpaceX stated that the "Starship" was lost during the re-entry into the atmosphere, originally intended to splash down in the Indian Ocean.

According to SpaceX's vision, the "Starship" is envisioned as a reusable transportation system capable of ferrying both humans and cargo to Earth's orbit, aiding in lunar missions, and eventually enabling journeys to Mars and beyond.

Previously, Musk had been asked about his timeline for human landing on Mars, predicting it to be in 2029. Musk has disclosed his desire to eventually die on Mars, stating that being born on Earth and dying on Mars would be a pretty cool thing. s_deed6aa593df4ba288a131494e70c0e6.png "Starship"
