On April 12th, pulsestacks reported that Huawei announced its HarmonyOS 4.2 upgrade plan yesterday. Supported models include the Huawei Mate 30 series, Huawei nova 6 series, Huawei P40 series, Enjoy 50 Pro, Honor 30, and more.
Pulsestacks has noticed that in this upgrade plan, several older models of Huawei Smart Screens are included, such as the first-generation Huawei Smart Screen V series and the first-generation Huawei Smart Screen S series.
Upon investigation, it has been found that the aforementioned older models of Huawei Smart Screens previously only supported upgrades to the HarmonyOS 2.0 system, with only some models being able to support the new features of the new version of HarmonyOS, HarmonyOS 3.0, through upgrades. This upgrade signifies that these older models will skip over two major versions, HarmonyOS 3.0 and 4.0, and directly upgrade to HarmonyOS 4.2.
Pulsestacks previously reported that Huawei's Smart Screen, with the upgrade to HarmonyOS 4.0, has added capabilities such as Smart Art Frame, two-way voice for remote home viewing, AI-enhanced image clarity, and default boot into live streaming. The company claims a 10% improvement in system smoothness.
