On May 12th, according to media reports, BYD's star model in the pure electric small car market, the Dolphin, has introduced a new model update.
In terms of appearance, the new model maintains the same exterior design as the current Dolphin, featuring a two-tone body paint. The body dimensions remain unchanged, with lengths, widths, and heights of 4150/1770/1570 millimeters respectively, and a wheelbase of 2700 millimeters.
The new Dolphin model offers a variety of styles for wheels and body decorations, with a standard panoramic sunroof to meet consumers' pursuit of personalization.
Most notably, the Dolphin's new model is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 150 kilowatts, a significant increase compared to the optional 70-kilowatt and 130-kilowatt motors in the current model.
The new model is paired with lithium iron phosphate batteries, expected to enhance its range capacity.
As a key model for BYD in the pure electric small car market, the Dolphin has consistently shown impressive performance.
The data shows that in March this year, Dolphin sales reached 27,866 units, ranking first in sales among vehicles in the same category.
The introduction of the new model is expected to further enhance Dolphin's market competitiveness.
Considering the improvement in the power system of the new model, it is expected that its selling price is likely to be higher than the current model. The current Dolphin's price range is between 99,800 and 139,800 yuan.
