On April 13th, it was announced that the new Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV Edition One limited edition has officially been released with a price tag of 2.438 million CNY. Only 15 units will be available for purchase in mainland China, making it a luxury that money alone cannot guarantee.
This vehicle is the high-performance version of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, featuring exclusive sport styling kits and powered by an engine sourced from BMW.
Compared to the standard version, the Range Rover Sport SVR boasts a sporty carbon fiber exterior package. It comes with a smoked black grille and RANGE ROVER insignia. The lower bumper features large intake openings designed to provide ample airflow for the braking system, ensuring its proper function.
This vehicle is positioned as a mid-to-large-sized SUV, with dimensions measuring 497020471814mm and a wheelbase of 2998mm. It comes equipped with 23-inch five-spoke carbon fiber wheels and features Brembo Octyma 8-piston front calipers, utilizing a unique crisscross arrangement of pistons to significantly enhance braking efficiency.
The rear design remains largely unchanged, featuring smoked black diffusers. The rear bumper has been upgraded with additional air deflectors on both sides, while the quad exhaust outlets on either side are adorned with carbon fiber covers.
In terms of interior design, the overall layout is similar to the current Range Rover Sport, with added carbon fiber overlays and metal accents. The steering wheel has been upgraded compared to the standard Range Rover Sport, and the center console is equipped with a 13.1-inch floating curved screen, along with the latest generation Pivi Pro entertainment system.
The powerhouse of this vehicle undoubtedly lies in its powertrain. It is equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from BMW paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a mild hybrid system. This setup can deliver an impressive 635 horsepower and peak torque of 750 Newton-meters. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.8 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 290 km/h.
It's worth mentioning that the new car also comes equipped with a hydraulic interconnected 6D dynamic air suspension system, which replaces traditional anti-roll bars with a semi-active control system. This gives it the ability to control vehicle pitch and roll, maintaining a balanced body posture during rapid acceleration, braking, and cornering maneuvers.
