On May 10th, according to reports from several domestic media outlets, some netizens discovered that the ingredient list of Miyakolando cheese products includes an ingredient called "edible oil fat products," which they believe to be trans fatty acids.

This discovery has sparked controversy. In response, Miyakolando customer service has stated that all product manufacturing complies with national standards. They are currently monitoring the situation and will provide updates when available.

Trans fatty acids refer to unsaturated fatty acids with one or more trans double bonds in their molecular structure.

In the processed food industry, unsaturated fatty acids (vegetable oils) are partially hydrogenated to solidify liquid oils, creating trans fats, such as margarine and other solid fats.

Studies have shown that excessive intake of trans fats can raise low-density lipoprotein levels and lower high-density lipoprotein levels, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.

The World Health Organization recommends that daily trans fat intake should not exceed 1% of total caloric intake, roughly equivalent to 2 grams.

Therefore, when purchasing food, it is advisable to read nutrition labels carefully. Processed foods containing trans fats or hydrogenated oils should be consumed in moderation. Fried foods, fast food, cakes, pastries, cookies, chocolates, and similar items are considered "hotspots" for trans fats. s_c4b1fc39a5a2483882e57de6f769a654.jpg
