Originally thought there might be a rebound in the smartphone market this year, but the reality is that competition is fiercer than ever. Some newly released devices have started to drop in price shortly after hitting the shelves, and even the iPhone 15 series is relying on discounts to maintain its popularity and sales. The price-cutting trend continues as we enter April. The 2024 Mi Fans Festival has kicked off, and the Xiaomi 14 series sees its first price drop. Every April 6th marks the commencement of Xiaomi's Mi Fans Festival, a special occasion where the company showers its consumers with great deals, including discounts on popular models. Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 14 series has indeed seen price cuts for the festival. The standard version sees a discount of 300 CNY (except for the base 8+256GB version), bringing the price of the Xiaomi 14 with 12+256GB configuration down to 3999 CNY. As for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, there's a discount of 400 CNY (excluding the limited edition), making the starting price for the 12+256GB version 4599 CNY. It's worth noting that the Xiaomi 14 Pro Titanium Edition and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are not part of the festival promotions.
As for the Xiaomi 14 series, there's not much more to say, as the market has already spoken volumes. It stands out as the best-selling model among domestic Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform devices, leading the pack with a significant margin. The OPPO Find X7 series has also seen price cuts. Information indicates that the starting price for the OPPO Find X7 is now 3799 CNY, which is a reduction of about 200 CNY. As for the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, its starting price has dropped to 5499 CNY, seemingly reduced by around 500 CNY. Meanwhile, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra is already on sale, with the 16+1TB variant selling for 7499 CNY. It's worth noting that the OPPO Find X7 standard version is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor, while the other two versions are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen 3 mobile platform. Overall, this series has performed well, although exact sales figures are not available. The price drop for the regular version of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro makes sense, especially with the approaching Mi Fan Festival. After all, it's a time for giving back to the fans, and these models have been on the market for five months already. However, the price drop for the OPPO Find X7 series is a bit surprising, considering it was only launched on January 8th this year, less than three months ago. This can only indicate that competition in the high-end market is even fiercer than in the mid-to-low range.
PS: Who will be next to join this price reduction trend?
