On April 15th, the new models smart Forease #1 and Forease #3 were launched. The smart Forease #1 lineup includes three models with prices ranging from ¥154,900 to ¥199,900, while the smart Forease #3 lineup also consists of three models priced between ¥164,900 and ¥219,900.
Compared to the previous model, the new car's price has undoubtedly decreased significantly. Even with the Mercedes-Benz pedigree, in such a fiercely competitive market environment, it has to bow down to confront the challenges.
As an annual update, the newly launched smart ForTwo #1 retains the exterior and interior design of the current models. The overall style is simple and rounded, very appealing to female consumers. In terms of dimensions, the new car remains consistent with the current models, with lengths, widths, and heights of 4270/1822/1636mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2750mm.
It features a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 200 kW and a peak torque of 343 N·m, paired with battery packs of two capacities: 49 kWh and 66 kWh. The CLTC pure electric range is 400 km and 535 km respectively.
Meanwhile, the Smart Elf #3 is slightly larger than the Smart Elf #1, with dimensions of 440018441556mm and a wheelbase of 2785mm. Its exterior and interior share many similarities with the Smart Elf #1, both being very stylish. Positioned as a coupe SUV, its roofline is notably sleek and flowing.
The new car offers two power options: rear single-motor and dual-motor all-wheel drive. The single-motor version boasts a maximum power of 200 kW and peak torque of 343 Nm.
Meanwhile, the dual-motor version supplements the single motor with an additional front motor of 115 kW, resulting in a system maximum power of 315 kW. Under CLTC conditions, it provides three choices for range: 415 km, 555 km, and 520 km.
