The National Two Sessions of 2024 are currently underway. On March 8th, Wang Liang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, suggested in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that the cultivation of young talents is of paramount importance. He proposed that the country should select some graduate enrollment units to pilot autonomous expansion of key majors.

Wang Liang pointed out that the foundation of innovation lies in talent cultivation, especially in nurturing young talents. He suggested selecting high-quality graduate education institutions and increasing the quota for graduate enrollment in key majors based on different disciplines and national demands. He hopes that through this approach, more scientific and technological talents can be cultivated for the country to meet the development needs of critical areas.
