Media: The New Express Delivery Regulation Requires Joint Effort, Can't Put All Pressure on Couriers

On March 8th, according to reports from several domestic media outlets, the new express delivery regulation has been implemented since March 1st.

According to the regulation, enterprises operating express delivery services must not confirm receipt of parcels on behalf of users without their consent, nor may they use intelligent parcel lockers, express service stations, or other end-of-route delivery facilities to deliver parcels without authorization.

In response to the new regulation, some netizens have expressed their support, saying: "Some couriers don't even notify before directly dropping off at the service station. Since there are people at home most of the time, I hope every parcel can be delivered to the door."

Some couriers have commented that it's impractical to expect couriers to deliver every parcel to the door, especially in buildings without elevators, as it would mean climbing stairs daily.

Media outlets have pointed out that the pressure of implementing the new regulations shouldn't fall solely on the frontline delivery couriers. With the aim of ensuring the quality of express delivery services, there needs to be a discussion on a realistic cost-sharing mechanism, taking into account the actual situation.

Industry insiders have stated that express companies should plan comprehensively according to the regulations, considering various aspects such as models, systems, costs, and services, rather than simply transferring the delivery pressure to couriers or service points. s_46c2d6603501426caf166450108c9e6e.jpg
