On May 1st, according to the official website of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, in March of this year, the Ninth Meeting of the Fourteenth Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress approved the "Hangzhou Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Application Promotion Regulations," which will come into effect on May 1st.
With this, Hangzhou has become the first provincial capital city in the country to legislate for the operation of intelligent connected vehicles on the road, and also the first city in the country to legislate for low-speed unmanned vehicles.
It is worth mentioning that Hangzhou has taken the lead in designating a total area of 3,474 square kilometers covering all eight urban districts (Shangcheng, Gongshu, Xihu, Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Yuhang, Linping, and Qiantang) and the urban area of Tonglu County as a testing area for intelligent connected vehicles, serving a population of over 10 million.
At the same time, Hangzhou will also promote the intelligent transformation and upgrade of road infrastructure, achieving a network connectivity rate of over 95% for traffic signals and road signs citywide, and upgrading to support over 3000 5G-A base stations.
