According to a recent case disclosed by the "Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security," on March 6, around 10:05 AM in Guiyang, Guizhou, traffic police conducted a routine inspection of a car and suspected the driver, Mr. Xiong, of drunk driving.
However, Mr. Xiong insisted he hadn't been drinking, saying "Who drinks alcohol first thing in the morning?" He even claimed he had only used medicinal alcohol on a mouth ulcer. The police conducted a breathalyzer test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 41mg/100ml. Faced with irrefutable evidence, Mr. Xiong finally admitted to drinking.
Upon verifying his information, the traffic police discovered that Mr. Xiong had been penalized for drunk driving in the past, making this a repeat offense. According to the law, he faces not only a revocation of his driver's license and a fine but also administrative detention.
Mr. Xiong's wife was shocked to hear the outcome, having been completely unaware of her husband's previous offense. She couldn't help but scold him on the spot: "Why didn't you tell me? How could you hide this from me!"
In the end, the traffic police legally detained his driver's license and issued an "Administrative Coercive Measures Certificate." Mr. Xiong is now facing a fine ranging from over one thousand to two thousand CNY, revocation of his driver's license, and up to ten days of administrative detention.
