On March 29th, reports from domestic media state that a man in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, was driving his Tesla on the highway when the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes, narrowly avoiding an accident.

The man stated, "I was continuously pressing the accelerator pedal, without engaging any autopilot features. While slowly veering to the right to avoid a pothole, the car suddenly slammed on the brakes, almost causing it to flip over."

He then contacted Tesla's staff, who mentioned that according to backend data, the sudden braking was due to a system misjudgment, but they couldn't provide a specific solution.

"I haven't even owned the car for a year, and encountering such a situation is truly frustrating. My demand is to return the car and seek compensation," the man expressed.

In response, Tesla customer service stated that whether it meets the conditions for warranty returns needs to be determined by a specific inspection of the vehicle's issues at the service center.

This incident has sparked discussions among netizens. Some express that Tesla has faced similar situations many times before, and they are unsure how to respond, suggesting opting for Xiaomi instead. Others lament that purely visual algorithm-based active safety features are unreliable, especially for new energy vehicles, as some functions occasionally fail during rainy weather. s_e95b0efe823c4e6c930550f0cecc1d77.jpg
