Mainland China's server exports to the US are almost zero! Taiwan is cashing in

According to the latest statistics from DigiTimes Asia, in 2017, mainland Chinese manufacturers held an 18.8% share in the US server market. However, by 2023, this number had plummeted to just 1.7%, nearly zero.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese manufacturers now dominate 73% of the US server market, a significant increase from 8.1% five years ago, marking a ninefold growth.

Currently, 90% of AI servers are manufactured in Taiwan, with US-branded AI servers being 100% made in Taiwan.

Additionally, with increased investments from companies like Foxconn, Mexico has unexpectedly emerged as a winner, securing a place in the US server market.

In a bid to further curb China's semiconductor industry, the US has urged Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan to tighten regulations, restricting mainland China's access to semiconductor equipment and technology.

Reportedly, the US hopes Japan will limit the export of specialty chemicals used in chip production, while the Dutch government should prohibit ASML from servicing lithography machines delivered to mainland Chinese manufacturers before the ban.

However, both Japan and the Netherlands aim to assess the impact of current restrictions before implementing stricter measures. s_ae644de304c44eef98bbd5f2127d4f8e.jpg
