On March 13th, a popular digital influencer "Chen Xi" with 6.7 million followers on Weibo shared a post stating that his newly acquired M9 was hit not even a month after purchase.

What added to his frustration was that initially, the other party admitted to drunk driving and hitting the car, pleading not to call the police and agreeing to cover all repair costs plus a 10% depreciation fee.

However, upon arriving at the service center for damage assessment, the other party did a complete 180: refusing to compensate, denying drunk driving, and not involving their insurance, leaving no solution on the table.

Subsequently, the blogger called the police, demanding full compensation for the repairs and pursuing criminal charges for drunk driving and hit-and-run.

Both parties have made their statements for the case, and further action awaits a report from the traffic police department. The influencer promises to update followers on the progress. s_0c83c1208b114e7e9e0174d2119faab3.jpg The blogger mentioned that by the time they got to the traffic police squadron, it had already been 16 hours since the accident occurred. "The person at fault was young and strong, and the alcohol had already metabolized. I requested the police to investigate for drunk driving, but was told it might be difficult to gather evidence."

The blogger stated that they should have called the police right from the start, even before checking the surveillance footage. "Showing mercy to others is the greatest cruelty to oneself."

They added, "Because we couldn't bring ourselves to call the police right away and went through a negotiation process, let alone drunk driving, we might ultimately not be able to hold him accountable for hit and run! This is the cost of being a good person!"

Some netizens commented, "Letting a drunk driving fugitive go without calling the police isn't being a good person." The blogger responded, "I'm sorry, I'm XX, and I won't do it again." s_0a54a4e9843344deb583f5a6f86b120b.png
