According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the initial batch of Macs featuring the M4 chip series is slated for release later this year, with more models to follow next year. Gurman outlined a more detailed roadmap for these Macs in today's Power On newsletter.
Gurman predicts the following order for Mac releases:
Gurman reiterates that Apple has internally tested the M3 Ultra chip, which will be used for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, but he states that "it is certain that at least some of Apple's high-end desktops" will skip the M3 chip series.
Gurman suggests that Apple will emphasize the artificial intelligence capabilities of the M4 chip series.
