Reports from various domestic media outlets on April 22nd revealed a surge in popularity for loratadine, a common medication used to treat allergy symptoms, as the airborne fluff of willow catkins blankets the air in April and May, irritating many.

Loratadine, known for alleviating allergy symptoms, has recently climbed the ranks of Weibo's trending topics, sparking attention.

Doctors caution that allergic conditions often recur due to changes in the body, seasonal variations, or exposure to allergens. Some individuals may take loratadine continuously for a period to prevent recurrence or attacks, but this practice is ill-advised.

Prolonged use of loratadine can lead to liver and kidney damage, decreased concentration, drowsiness, headaches, and even drug resistance, which hampers subsequent treatment.

Therefore, the course of loratadine treatment should be followed as per medical advice, avoiding excessive or prolonged use.

It's important to note that individuals with severe liver or kidney impairment, children under 2 years old, pregnant or breastfeeding women should use loratadine with caution. Concurrent use of loratadine with drugs such as ketoconazole, macrolide antibiotics, cimetidine, or theophylline is not recommended. s_2c9321fb8af3484d8cc84b89e8b1b61c.jpg
