On April 3rd, it was disclosed during the delivery ceremony of the first batch of SU7 by Lei Jun that the pre-orders for the vehicle have surpassed 100,000, with over 40,000 orders already locked in.

As of now, the performance of Xiaomi's SU7 is remarkably promising. However, the most significant challenge ahead lies in scaling up production capacity. aff33f77-7180-4629-91a2-3002c0089c4d.jpg According to domestic media reports, the current daily production capacity of Xiaomi's car factory is less than 300 vehicles, which is still insufficient to meet the huge demand for orders. Reports suggest that Xiaomi's car division has issued demands to its suppliers to increase production capacity. According to several suppliers of Xiaomi's cars, the company has raised its annual production capacity demand for 2024 to 120,000 vehicles. 7b00d9f6-ff70-4ec4-950a-15dd12a771d0.jpg Currently, all Xiaomi SU7 vehicles are produced and sold in-house, originating from Xiaomi's factory located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (also known as Beijing Yizhuang).

According to a recent report on China Central Television (CCTV) news, the factory operates at full capacity, churning out a new car every 76 seconds. Over 700 robots are deployed directly on the production lines, enabling 100% automation in key processes such as large-scale casting, stamping, body assembly, painting, and final assembly. 4131d79a-93bf-4411-84ec-5c946a3b7eee.jpg Leveraging AI technology, Xiaomi has independently developed an X-ray intelligent quality inspection system, enabling 100% high-precision online monitoring of key processes.

In addition to the traditional stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly processes, Xiaomi has also established in-house large-scale die-casting and battery workshops.

Furthermore, Xiaomi's automotive factory Phase II is scheduled to commence construction in 2024 and be completed by 2025. 9a77aca8-8b88-4ab7-b7b3-9dc909afdade.png
