Lexus LX600 Partial Recall Due to Gearbox Issue

La Mu Sat, Mar 16 2024 10:06 AM EST

On March 15th, it was announced that Toyota Hainan Mobility Limited, in accordance with the "Regulation on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recalls" and its implementation measures, has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Recall Batch:

Starting from March 31, 2024, a total of 166 Lexus LX600 vehicles produced between August 1, 2023, and January 12, 2024, will be recalled.

Reason for Recall:

The affected vehicles in this recall batch may experience incomplete disengagement of the clutch after shifting into neutral due to insufficient consideration of the multi-plate clutch structure and related power transmission control procedures in the automatic transmission system. This could result in the vehicle unexpectedly moving forward when releasing the brake pedal, posing a safety hazard.

Recall Measures:

Toyota Hainan Mobility Limited will provide a free upgrade of the transmission control software for the recalled vehicles to eliminate the safety hazard.

Notification Method:

Affected users will be notified of the recall via registered mail and other means. Users of the Lexus LX600 imported by Toyota Hainan Mobility Limited can contact the service hotline at 400-0201-333 for information regarding this recall. Additionally, they can visit the websites www.dpac.org.cn and www.recall.org.cn, or follow the WeChat public account (SAMRDPAC) for more information and to report any defect-related clues.

About Lexus LX600:
