On April 23rd, reports surfaced suggesting that Apple has ceased production of its woven fabric accessories due to poor durability, with all production lines reportedly dismantled.

Last September, Apple discontinued the sale of leather accessories, opting for woven fabric materials instead, citing environmental reasons.

Apple touted the durability of its woven fabric cases, made from ultra-fine woven fibers, boasting a soft feel akin to suede, with 68% of the material being recycled and significantly lower carbon emissions compared to leather.

Numerous accessories utilized woven fabric materials, including MagSafe cases, wallets, and Apple Watch bands.

This implies that this lineup of accessories, introduced less than a year ago, has already met its end.

Since the launch of woven fabric accessories, criticism has been relentless. The Verge, after a week of testing, remarked, "It inevitably gets scratched by sharp nails or car keys, and these damages appear to be permanent."

Some users complained that this material "easily gets dirty," "is incompatible with third-party charging cables," and "is prone to material wrinkling." c521a03b-6dc8-49c5-8dbe-6e7f4495649a.png
