On March 28th, news broke that while NVIDIA's AI GPU accelerator cards continue to dominate both in performance and market share, AMD has refused to be overshadowed, carving out a significant space for itself and winning the favor of numerous customers.
During an interview, Ryan McCurdy, President of Lenovo North America, stated that the demand for AMD MI300 series accelerator cards is at an all-time high. Lenovo is currently engaged in testing and load verification, with everything progressing smoothly.
Though specific numbers were not disclosed, it's evident that the AMD MI300 series has garnered significant recognition, particularly in a market where NVIDIA has nearly monopolized. The market is ripe for a strong competitor, and AMD is stepping up to the challenge.
Of course, Lenovo isn't about to snub NVIDIA over this. They're committed to collaborating with various partners.
McCurdy made it clear that whether it's NVIDIA or AMD, whether it's Intel or Microsoft, they'll collaborate closely and keep rolling out their respective new products.
Earlier surveys indicated about 50% of respondents express confidence in AMD MI300X. The reason being, compared to the NVIDIA H100 series, it not only offers better value for money but also enjoys sufficient supply without price hikes due to shortages.
