Sharp has launched the AQUOS R9 smartphone in the Japanese market, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Mobile Platform. This phone comes in two color options, green and white, and is set to be officially released in Japan in July, with the specific price to be announced by the carrier at the time of launch.
The AQUOS R9, designed by "miyake design" (founded by Issey Miyake), showcases a unique aesthetic concept with its lens module adopting free curves and irregular design.
This phone features a 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080, supporting a variable refresh rate of 1-240Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1500 nits.
Additionally, the AQUOS R9 is equipped with the largest speaker in the series' history, supporting Dolby Atmos technology for a more immersive audio experience for users.
In terms of cameras, the AQUOS R9 has a front camera with an aperture of f/2.2, equivalent to 23mm, and a rear main camera with an aperture of f/1.9, 1/1.5 inches, equivalent to 23mm, supporting optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide-angle camera has an aperture of f/2.2, equivalent to 13mm. All cameras are 50.3 megapixels and supervised by Leica.
The AQUOS R9 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ mobile platform, with a built-in vapor chamber, 12GB of LPDDR5X memory, 256GB of storage, and support for up to 1TB microSD card expansion.
For battery life, the AQUOS R9 comes with a 5000mAh battery and utilizes side-mounted fingerprint recognition technology.
In terms of dust and water resistance, the AQUOS R9 is rated IP65/IP68 and has passed MIL-STD-810G certification, ensuring excellent durability and reliability.
