Lei Jun Didn't Lie! Citigroup Expects Xiaomi SU7 to Deliver Up to 70,000 Units Annually: Average Loss of 6,800 Yuan per Unit

On April 15th, during the Xiaomi SU7 launch event, Lei Jun mentioned that the car "loses money on each unit sold."

According to the latest Citigroup report, Xiaomi Group's SU7 is expected to deliver between 5,000 to 6,000 units in April, with an annual delivery estimate of around 55,000 to 70,000 units.

Currently, the waiting time for Xiaomi SU7 is as long as six months. If production capacity cannot meet demand, Xiaomi may encounter growth issues similar to last year's Xiaopeng G6. s_451fa76c3d4448da82671cff022a61e8.jpg It's estimated that Xiaomi incurs an average loss of 6,800 CNY for each SU7 sold in 2024, with a total loss of 4.1 billion CNY for its entire car manufacturing business.

Previously, a blogger leaked that the production capacity of Xiaomi SU7 would start to increase this week, with daily output expected to exceed 400 units and monthly production directly reaching 12,000 units, which is quite significant considering the positioning of this model.

It's projected that by April 2024, Xiaomi SU7 is expected to directly enter the top three in sales of pure electric sedans priced above 200,000 CNY in China.

"Originally, our pricing was 229,000 CNY, and the top-of-the-line version was originally priced at 350,000 CNY. But the price cuts by other car manufacturers caught us off guard, so we decided to sincerely go all out. The standard version will be priced 30,000 CNY lower than the Tesla Model 3, and the Max version will be priced at 299,000 CNY," said Lei Jun. s_c315b45b02b7486da4d1fa07b05bb9d3.jpg
