March 21st news, a blogger has revealed that the Zhijie S7 will be relaunched on April 8th.
The blogger stated that this is likely in response to the timing of the Xiaomi SU7, and that the launch will allow Zhijie to assess Xiaomi's pricing and make adjustments to their own specifications and pricing accordingly.
The ZEEKR S7 debuted in November 2022 with an initial price range of ￥249,800-349,800. Boosted by Huawei's partnership and tech support, it quickly garnered over 20,000 pre-orders. However, delivery delays have raised concerns within the industry.
In March 2023 at the China EV100 Forum, Huawei's Yu Chengdong attributed the delays to chip shortages and a factory relocation, but projected a return to normal production in April.
Meanwhile, the XIAOMI SU7, the first model from Xiaomi Auto, is set to launch and begin deliveries on March 28th.
The ZEEKR S7 and XIAOMI SU7 share similar product positioning and price ranges. Given the ongoing price war in China's auto market, ZEEKR may consider adjusting its configurations to match Xiaomi's offerings.
Upon its relaunch in April, if ZEEKR S7 unveils a more competitive configuration, it will become a formidable rival to Xiaomi Auto.
