Last week, Nothing made the proactive disclosure that it will officially unveil its earbuds on April 18, named Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), as the company intends to "reset" its naming scheme, moving away from using numbers to denote which generation of product it is. Today, images and specifications of both earbuds have been leaked, starting with the high-end offering, Nothing Ear. Reportedly priced at 150 euros, this earbud is expected to succeed the Nothing Ear (2).
The Black and White Colors of Nothing Ear
The new Nothing Ear comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, while the case offers an IPX2 rating. With ANC turned off, the earbuds provide up to 7.5 hours of playback time, with a total of 33 hours when combined with the case. Nothing Ear will be available in two colors: black and white, staying true to Nothing's transparent theme.
According to leaked information, Nothing Ear (a) will be the more affordable option, priced at 100 euros. Even at this price point, you still get active noise cancellation, dual connection support, and fast charging, just as you'd expect from "Ear."
Ear (a) Yellow Edition
With ANC turned off, Ear (a) provides up to 8 hours of continuous usage, while the earbud case offers a total of 38 hours. The earbuds boast an IP54 protection rating, while the case achieves a slightly better IP55 rating for reasons unspecified.
Reportedly, these products will be available in three colors: black, white, and yellow, with the yellow option being touted as more environmentally friendly (though specifics on how or why remain undisclosed).
Overall, these audio products from Nothing look quite promising, and we look forward to their official release next week.
