News on March 30th, today OPPO officially announced the sale of the Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition starting April 2nd.
Currently, reservations can be made through the official website, JD.com, and other channels, exclusively for the 16GB+1TB variant, priced at 7499 CNY, just 500 CNY more than the regular 16GB+512GB version.
Right from its name, the standout feature of this device is clear—satellite communication. Moreover, OPPO, through its satellite antenna directionality control technology, has introduced a first for smartphones: the ability to make satellite calls, both through the earpiece and in speaker mode, without needing any specific angles or positions. You can use it just like a regular phone call, pressed against your ear, moving away from the walkie-talkie approach.
Additionally, the official announcement highlighted that this device features a 1-inch dual periscope quad-camera system, ultra-clear telephoto capabilities, RAW MAX, and full-range 4K60fps Dolby Vision recording, making it a true concert filming powerhouse. Notably, the Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition is the first device to launch with 5.5G network capabilities, marking it as the inaugural device deployed since China announced the commercial use of 5.5G networks. OPPO claims, "The network speed can increase by up to 300%, pioneering the entry into the era of 10 Gigabit mobile networks."
5.5G, also known as 5G-A, stands for "5G-Advanced." It's an upgraded version of 5G, faster than regular 5G, supports more frequency bands, and is more automated and intelligent.
It's reported that Chinese telecom operators have deployed 5.5G trial networks in over 20 provinces domestically. A large number of public users as well as some industry users are expected to experience 5.5G services this year.
